HALF CHOCOLATE CHIP & HALF BROWNIE COOKIES

What is the best treat in the world? Chocolate chip cookies......or is it brownies? Maybe I couldn't choose so I just decided to put them both together! Take a look at my little creation Chocolate Chip and Brownie Cookies.

THE CHOCOLATE CHIP MIXTURE

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (about 12 ounces) semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter with both sugars; beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce speed to low; add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well mixed, about 1 minute. Add flour mixture; mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.

THE BROWNIE MIXTURE

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, butter, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Beat on low for 1 to 2 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl as needed, until well mixed.

NOW LET'S PUT THEM BOTH TOGETHER!

1. Drop heaping half tablespoon-size balls of dough of each batter together on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
2. Use the back of the spoon to combine both batters carefully without mixing them up
3. Place each cookie about two inches apart from each other
4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until firm to the touch.
5. Cool in the pan on a wire rack
